Between February and September 2021, The SongLab was funded by Arts Connect West Midlands to undertake a research project which aimed to explore how best to educate emerging music creators on the mechanics behind the business of music.

One of the aims of the research was to help to emerging music professionals to create their own pathways to working opportunities by gaining a simplified understanding of various income streams available to them.

As a result of numerous consultations, surveys, interviews and steering group meetings, 14 key areas were highlighted in the overall needs analysis. Below you will see the title of each of the key 14 topics along with a free PDF download for each.
